This Cancellations and Refunds Policy applies to the use of the Billetaxo platform and the services offered through it.
This document is informative and should be reviewed by a legal professional.
1. Scope of This Policy
It is important to distinguish between:
- Flight, hotel and car services: managed by external providers (Aviasales, Kiwi, Expedia or other partners).
- Services that Billetaxo may offer directly (for example, certain tours, transfers or complementary services, if applicable).
2. Flights, Hotels and Car Rentals
Billetaxo acts as a search, comparison and redirection platform to provider sites.
When the user makes a flight, hotel or car reservation:
- The contract is entered into directly between the user and the provider (airline, issuing agency, hotel, car rental company, etc.).
- Cancellation, change and refund conditions are defined by the provider, not Billetaxo.
Therefore:
- Requests for cancellation, date change, name change or refund must be directed directly to the provider where the reservation was made (for example, Aviasales, Kiwi, Expedia or another).
- Billetaxo cannot modify, approve or execute refunds for those reservations, nor guarantee acceptance of changes or returns.
We recommend that users always review the provider's cancellation and refund policies before confirming any reservation.
3. Services Operated Directly by Billetaxo (if applicable)
In the case of services that are organized and charged directly by Billetaxo (for example, certain tours or own transfers), the following general rules will apply, unless otherwise indicated in the specific offer:
- Cancellations with more than [X days/hours] notice: refund of [100%/percentage] of the amount paid.
- Cancellations between [X and Y days/hours] before the service: partial refund of [percentage].
- Cancellations with less than [Y hours] or no-show: no right to refund.
Any special condition (high season, promotions, non-refundable services) will be clearly indicated in the service description.
3.1 Travel Consulting / Travel Advisory Services
Refunds for services managed by third parties (flights, hotels, cars) are governed by the policies of such providers; this policy applies solely to the travel consulting fee offered directly by Billetaxo.
3.1.1 Consulting Fee Refund Policy
For travel consulting services (advisory on travel planning and visa applications) offered directly by Billetaxo:
- The payment corresponds to a personalized advisory service, and does not include direct ticket issuance nor visa guarantees.
- In case the visa application is denied by a competent immigration authority and provided that the user has followed the instructions provided by Billetaxo, Billetaxo will refund the consulting fee paid by the user within 15 business days.
- This refund applies solely to Billetaxo's consulting fee, not to tourist reservations managed by partner agencies nor to consular fees paid directly to official authorities.
3.1.2 Documentation Requirements for Refund
To access the consulting fee refund in case of visa denial, the client must provide:
- Official evidence of visa rejection: official document issued by the embassy, consulate or competent immigration authority certifying the denial of the visa application.
- Confirmation of having followed instructions: evidence that the client complied with the instructions and recommendations provided by Billetaxo during the advisory process.
- Payment information: proof of payment of the consulting fee to Billetaxo.
The refund will be processed once the documentation is verified and all established conditions are confirmed.
3.1.3 Service Differentiation
It is important to clearly distinguish:
- Billetaxo consulting fee: corresponds to the professional advisory service and document guidance. This fee is the only one subject to the refund policy described above.
- Tourist reservations: flight, hotel and transfer reservations are processed and invoiced by agencies registered in the Dominican Republic or United States, with their own cancellation and refund policies. The user should refer to those policies when applicable.
- Consular fees: official consular fee payments are made directly to the competent immigration authorities. Billetaxo does not charge or manage these fees, and they are not refundable by Billetaxo.
Billetaxo does not act as an intermediary before Dominican authorities for the payment of consular fees. Payments to such entities are made by the user or under their express consent through authorized third parties.
4. Complementary Services (top-ups, eSIM, gift cards, etc.)
Certain services, due to their nature, may be non-refundable once processed (for example, mobile top-ups to Cuba, eSIM activation, gift cards already issued).
This condition will be informed visibly before completing the operation.
5. Support and Assistance
Although Billetaxo cannot directly manage cancellations or refunds for flights, hotels or cars, we can guide the user on how to contact the provider and what information to provide.
For support, you can write to: soporte@billetaxo.com indicating:
- Full name.
- Email used in the reservation.
- Provider where you booked (Aviasales, Kiwi, Expedia, etc.).
- Reservation number, if you have it.
6. Updates to This Policy
Billetaxo may update this Cancellations and Refunds Policy to adapt it to service or regulatory changes. The current version will be the one published on this page.
